Are you one of the 4+ million people that have read Patrick Lencioni's best selling book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team? Do You Know The DiSC® Styles of the DecisionTech, Inc Leadership Team?
I thought this was so clever of the Wiley team and insightful that I would highlight it in this short post.
The sample of The Five Behaviors®: Team Development assessment report is based on the six main characters of DecisionTech, Inc. leadership team, as depicted in Patrick Lencioni’s book.
With the Team Development assessment powered by Everything DiSC®, the team’s DiSC styles are highlighted on the Team Map on page 10 and on the Conflict Team Map on page 16.
To save you looking up the character names and matching their initials, which are used in the assessment report here they are: Kathryn Petersen (KP), Jeff Shanley (JS), Michele Bebe (MB), Martin Gilmore (MG), Jeff Rawlins (JR) and Carlos Amador (CA).
More on the Conflict Team Map
I love the simplicity of the Conflict Team map, which shows the unhealthy behaviours that we can all, on occasion, exhibit during conflict and the healthy behaviours that we should look to develop to engage in productive conflict. The map is positioned around eight DiSC style regions, which show which DiSC styles are most likely to have tendencies towards these behaviours.
In a Five Behaviors Team Development workshop, your facilitator will bring to life the Team Conflict map during the focus on the second behaviour, Mastering Conflict. Raising self awareness of the unhealthy behaviors of the team and developing a team action plan for prioritising and developing habits for engaging in productive conflict focusing on the healthly behaviors instead.
