Becoming an Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner is about far more than completing a programme or passing an assessment.
For many practitioners, it represents a significant personal and professional milestone — building confidence, deepening understanding, and developing the capability to bring DiSC to life with others.
The following testimonial from Mandy Toon is shared in her own words, drawn directly from her reflections on the Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner experience, from her very first conversation through to confidently applying DiSC within Inclusion Education. Her story highlights not only the learning journey itself but also the importance of clarity, support, and ongoing partnership in turning certification into confident practice.
A supportive start
From the very first conversation, Natalie Simms made the process of becoming an Everything DiSC Certified Practitioner clear and approachable. She took time to explain exactly what the programme involved—covering content, time commitments, and outcomes—which allowed me to plan ahead and feel fully prepared. That clarity gave me the confidence to commit to the training, knowing exactly what to expect.
An effortless experience
Arranging the programme through Scenario One was completely stress-free. My own schedule made finding suitable dates tricky, but Natalie was incredibly patient and flexible in helping me secure a place. Registration through Wiley was straightforward, and the communications leading up to the course were clear and reassuring, which helped me start the programme feeling informed and ready.
Learning that fits around real life
Setting up my Wiley Learning Platform account and completing the pre-work modules was simple and intuitive. I really appreciated being able to complete the self-paced learning around my work schedule.
When the live workshops began, I’ll admit I was nervous—but any apprehension disappeared immediately. The facilitators created a warm, engaging environment, starting each session with a light-hearted question that encouraged interaction and connection. I also liked being able to log in early to chat informally; it helped me relax and feel part of the group.
The mix of self-paced learning and live sessions suited me perfectly. The two-week cadence gave me enough time to complete each module thoroughly and prepare for the next workshop. Although I spent more time preparing than required, it boosted my confidence and deepened my learning.
Applying DiSC in practice
Each practical project built on the last, helping me apply what I was learning in real time. I even did extra research and used Catalyst to expand my understanding. Presenting my work to the group initially felt daunting, but it soon became one of the most valuable parts of the course—transforming my nerves into confidence and reinforcing how powerful DiSC insights can be.
A proud achievement
Preparing for the online exam was straightforward thanks to the notes and resources I’d gathered throughout the programme. The flexibility to choose when to take it helped me fit it around family life. Receiving confirmation of my certification was a proud moment. Having not undertaken formal study for many years, completing the course felt like a major personal and professional milestone. It’s strengthened my confidence and reaffirmed my belief in my ability to keep learning and growing.
Bringing DiSC into Inclusion Education
Since completing the certification, I’ve already developed and delivered a DiSC session to my team, which was extremely well received. I’m now in the process of creating additional sessions and am thrilled to be delivering my first DiSC Fundamentals session very soon.
I couldn’t have done this without Natalie’s incredible support. She generously took the time to do a full run-through with me and will be there during the session to assist with the technical side and provide backup if needed. Her guidance and encouragement have been invaluable, and I’m so grateful for her expertise and willingness to help. Thanks to her, I feel confident and excited to share DiSC more widely across the organisation.
Natalie’s support hasn’t stopped at certification. She continues to offer guidance, feedback, and opportunities to observe sessions in other organisations. Knowing she’s there to help as I embed DiSC into Inclusion Education has made the experience even more valuable.
Final reflection
Becoming an Everything DiSC Certified Practitioner has given me lasting confidence, a deeper understanding of behaviour and communication, and the tools to help others grow. It’s been a truly rewarding journey—made all the better by Natalie’s thoughtful guidance and Scenario One’s seamless support from start to finish.
Beyond Certification
Becoming an Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner has given Mandy lasting confidence, a deeper understanding of behaviour and communication, and practical tools to help others grow.
Her journey demonstrates that certification is only the starting point. What truly matters is feeling supported enough to apply DiSC with confidence, adapt it to real organisational contexts, and grow into the role of facilitator over time.
It has been a pleasure to support Mandy on this journey and to continue working alongside her as DiSC becomes embedded across Inclusion Education.
